String Orchestra, Music Director and Conductor

Mary Lou Jones is in her third year as director of orchestras at Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri, where she also supervises the district string program. She retired from the Shawnee Mission School District in 2002 after eighteen years as director of orchestras at Shawnee Mission South High School.  During her tenure in the Shawnee Mission School District she conducted the Shawnee Mission District Middle School Orchestra, Strictly Strings, chamber ensembles, and strolling strings ensembles.  She is currently a member of the adjunct graduate faculty of the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri-Kansas City.  Her teaching career of more than forty years includes both public school music and private studio teaching. 

   Jones completed both her Master of Music Education and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
